RECORDING: The History of Recorded Music is an epic project, shot in high-definition and mixed in 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound, that traces America’s history since Thomas Edison invented the first sound recording device in 1877 to the Internet. This groundbreaking documentary will explore how — in just 130 years — technological innovation and business acumen transformed music from a one-time, performance based event to a shared, portable and permanent part of America’s cultural landscape.
